Here are some reviews (good and bad) posted on the Sugarbeat "Garage Band" website...
Come Again
SUGARbeat
Real solid
It sounds like blue eyed soul. I like the arrangement. Nice jazzy horn lines. I like that it is a more complex composition with the changes. I'd lose the sitar effect in the beginning though, it sounds out of tune.
- Phat_Strat from St. Louis, Missouri on 11Nov2007 Groovy
1 - Lyrics
The lyrics are clear and well understood. The theme of the song is well established.
2 - Chord Structure
Im not quite sure what structure it is following but what ever it is it is working so well done.
3 - Sound
Original sound. The thing that really works in rhis song and the groove is the conversation between the vox and the sax. Very cool rythm.
- dateo_potato from Australia on 3Nov2007
Excellent vocal
Rather strange intro with synthetic keyboard sound. But the vocal is very good. Nice lyrics & excellent chord structure. The sound could have been improved by the use of real professional musicians rather than synthetic sound (eg, sitar / brass). Great ideas to make a potential hit here. The vocal is very nice.
- EMILIEN from Paris, France on 27Oct2007
Vocally, you sound similiar to...
John Mayer. This isn't really my type of music, but it's got a really nice melody and arrangement.
- rwells from Unspecified on 23Oct2007
Too Cool !!!
Soulful with a sitar at start, nice groove going on with the band. The singer has great control in his delivery, this is like Prince meets James Brown. This is one infectous song, too cool !!!
- SoakesLonesome from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 20Oct2007
funky
nice horns work, love live horn section, like the lead vox as well, has a mayer/mathews feel, cool sax solo, overall production and mix is great. lyricly its fine.
- BrianTorres from Hollywood, California on 3Oct2007
Pop Pop FIzz Phunky
Nice Sunny style singa,
You're like BONO!
Like this funky way on this FIzZ.
FizZ got cool jam on the bread side!!!
Like the fizz on the finga of the Guitar boyz..
Horn got a bit of hot sauce on the lip, hot like butta on the melt.
This is a BLT "Built To Last" concept, and life starts on the break, and sax solo's giving me a butterlfy....
This is hot! Keep adding that special sauce....
Pop Pop Fizz Funky for Sure!
It's a sugar!
- Starman7 from New York on 2Oct2007
Pretty good.
This is obviously a really well rehearsed (or experienced) band. The feel is impeccable and the singer is wonderful.
I'm not a huge fan of the horns in this song. Obviously it's a personal preference, but it nudges the tune into the realm of adult contemporary. I get that guys like John Mayer are doing it and getting away with it, it's just not my cup of tea.
Good band. Good voice.
- MrHarman from Canada on 27Sep2007
Jazzy right from start
Love everything about this track, from beginning to end. The lyrics and sound are a little 70's - 80's
sounding, nothing wrong with that! Love the instruments and how they intertwine around the vocalists. Nicely done. This song just wraps all around me.Keep it up- could hear this down Louisiana way!
- LaurenKing from Dallas, Texas on 24Sep2007
Jazzy funky drive
Lyrics: more than the lyrics is the voice which picks my attention: a strong voice which performs in a mixture between singing and speaking. Thus is the melody very difficult to define trhough the lots of effects and intonation changes. The voice mumbles, that difficults an easy and unstressed understanding of the lyrics.
Chord structure: very jazzy funky grooving. The harmonic processions are tight, threatening. Very interesting.
Sound: at the beginning a very metallic shinig from the intro to the first cueing of the rest of the instrumentation (brass very present!). Good instrumental dialoguing throughout the song. At the end a very strong tutti ends full of power!
- IGUANAIGUANA from Mainz, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany on 24Sep2007
Top Shelf!
Boy, the mix is good. A+ production!
And the groove/melody is quality. Choice!
I don't really think there's anything I could suggest to make this better. Great job!
- movingsky from Somerville, Alabama on 21Sep2007
DMB
This has a very Dave Mat Band feel. Music has a really cool funkyness to it which mess well with the vocals. Good overall song
- RhyJames from Dunsandel, Canterbury, New Zealand on 17Sep2007
Jazzfunkpop
A really strange intro, almost a bit middle-easternsounding. Then the song turns into a jazzy funk-popsong. The singer does a great job with the lyrics. The chord structure sounds cool and unusual, and there´s some really great horn fills. A bit like those magic songs Chicago did in the 70´s, before Terry Kath died. Great!
- GustavNilsson from Arvika, Värmland, Sweden on 16Sep2007
almost there
sounds like maroon 5 mixed with phil collins but its nice tho. i see where your tryin ta go but its not a hit. u almost there tho try again u can do it.

- BARSmuzik from Fairfield, California on 7Sep2007
review
sitar sounds good. theres that voice again. i know i reveiwed u earlier. then again, so many singers have that voice these days. i like the saxaphones....makes the song even better. very good sound. very 70s. slick production and great performance. great bridge section. like the solo. nice jjob.
- braindoll from Dix Hills, New York on 4Sep2007

funky
very funky... definatly a good groove goin on here.
very jazzy progression... interesting lyrics. chord structure and sound is defniantly unique. good job.
- energymusicc from Brooklyn, New York on 2Sep2007 Funky layed back vibe, with a sprinkling of j..
nice tone in the vocal, works with this style of music well. Chord structure is cool, like the changes, and the lyrics are cool too
- DylanPatrick from Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom on 27Aug2007
Well...
I think the intro could do a better job of grabbing the listener. The vocal is good, but not great. I like the brass but I think it could be panned better. The drums are good, but lack punch. The overall track has a good arrangement. Production is good as well. The chorus vocal is not catchy enough for me. This bridge is awsome. Love it!
- ralphson from Japan on 20Aug2007
High marks for originality
Intro had an interesting blend of sounds. Jumped into something jazzy, but the transition was smooth enough. I like it. Good mix, good vocals. I wish you well.
- openmike from Wayne, Michigan on 17Aug2007
Good performance
The vocal quality reminds me of singers like Sting and Bono which is a good thing. Very good. Quite groovy jazzy backing track. Don't love this style I do like my strong melody pop rather thank good taste funk grooves. But it's all well performed and mixed.
- Alchemorph from Manchester, United Kingdom on 31Jul2007
Skills
Strong rawness in the vocals.
Great musicianship. This is more soul than ordinary pop. I like the organ sounds. And the chord structure seems very well worked out. IT shoows great musical knowledge and skills. Well done all over. Great saxsolo!
- Roario from Stavanger, Norway on 31Jul2007
Wow - good groove
Good intro - wow this grooves - fonky vibes - like the sax - this is good track it stands out! pro production - with very tight musicans - extra credit for production melody vocals & a lot of other things... Best wishes!
- onid from Switzerland, , Switzerland on 31Jul2007
Hit me!!!!
Not keen on the sitar in the intro, but nice brass work and guitar, sound is really good, quite funky
- jaakbluesky from Fareham, Hampshire, United Kingdom on 26Jul2007
Mr. Mathews apprentice
Sitar is a verty nice touch, Dave Mathews style vocal sits well in the mix. The vocals are very well done, nice timbre, the lyrics are nothing new but very well phrased. THe horns are well placed, they keep this dynamic. My only complain is how derivative this is of Dave Mathhes band.
- thefutureofcolor from San Francisco, California on 24Jul2007
funky
nice tone of voice which makes the whole funky sound more interesting.
Didn't expect the brass though they work it made it very familiar sounding.
The lyrics sounded rhythmically well and sound thoughtful in the writing.
The chord structure had a few twists with the slightly jazzy sound but I would've taken this in a completely different direction and not neccesarily jazzier, possibly the opposite in this case.
The overall sound was nice and tight and the musicians all seem competent.
- denbyhayes from Caleta, Fuerteventura, Spain on 18Jul2007
very good
the sitar at the beginning destroys the song. it does not fit the vibe. the organ is sufficient. the rest of the song is a-1. i love the sax solo and background harmony. lyrics are good. sound quality is excellent.
- jgllams from Manila, Philippines on 14Jul2007
nice solo
The sound is very clean but too dry.
Mixing balance is good.
I like brass section in this song.
espatially trumpet solo part.
solo player is very-well...and groove...and freely melody line.
It`s fantastic sound over the background vocal.
I think that this song have 2 faces...verse and hook.
It would touch more if the vocal sing with more rhythm on the hook.
- hunks74 from Seoul, Korea on 13Jul2007
tight
the production and instrumentation are excellent as are the vocals. i don't feel compelled to listen to the lyrics cos its fairly groovy.
- chaubner from Cincinnati, Ohio on 11Jul2007
funky
I thought I liked the prior song but yours was so diff that I have to pick this one. Good soulful funk with a U2 overtone.
- HopeForZeros from Southern, California on 6Jul2007
Wow
love the intro to this song. Love the Vocals and sound.I like the soulful feel to this track. Great sax. the lyrics rock. YOu can tell the artist knows and feels this song all the way through. Great everything. Good show boys.
- zanyzena from Plano, Texas on 6Jul2007
Pop goes the awkward
This song is nice. I could chill to this groove for a decent amount of time. Definitely a party song, breaking the awkwardness.
I think the horns add a ton of textures to the entirety of the track. It's really nice when the turn around comes and the minor to major chord changes are nice. The sax solo at 2:00 is brilliant, smooth and jazzin' just the kind of music needed to spice up the setting.
The vocals and lyrics are senstaional, I really dig this whole song.
AWESOME JOB!
- DanCollins from Waunakee, Wisconsin on 2Jul2007
sunny
lyrics like your looking forward to Feb. 14 with your new love-fyi told nice story add to song like gas to a car-talent scale 8 of 11.
chorud & sound like like the most special Feb 14 day that sticks out in your mind-fyi like both fit song like wax on a shinny car
- songmanmel from Gap, Pennsylvania on 27Jun2007
Funky, funky fun
Wanna stand up and dance, ok hold on......put it on repeat and dance, yipikayeeee. The solo is nice but would have been better with a bit jamming with a guitar. Nice track, good voice. Ok production.
- Sandrini from Varde, Denmark on 26Jun2007
good song
Slow start, picked up towatrds the middle, chords fit together well, good sound but a tad louder in the mastering
- PaxBaldwin from United Kingdom on 22Jun2007
Whining
The vocalist sounds like it he is whining. Tht is something that is not flattering and the lyrics are blah they would have been better.
- nhcollegechic from Nashua, New Hampshire on 20Jun2007
I'm in a bar
I feel like I'm in a bar. Lyrics is good, chord structure is weird. Sound is pretty good actually.
- kironmusic from Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 19Jun2007
thoughts
funky rob thomas vibe, I dig this song good lyrics, and an excellent structure, very different jazzy feel here very good job,
- PrestonJ from Edmonton, Canada on 17Jun2007
Right
Ok Steven Tyler, good vocal sound and style. Nice band, nice production. This is very good. Ok, this is a very authentic piece and sound and I think you, as a singer, just plain have that bit down. The sax player is pitch-challenged but that could also be the clashing background, which frankly is way too wimpy for this piece and totally out of place - I think the sax solo is a bad idea actually. Besides that EXCELLENT - the singer is off to the races. Thanks!
- caseyjcasey from Saint Petersburg, Florida on 14Jun2007
OK
Very awkward intro. Doesn't fit the song at all. Nice sax sound all the way thru the song. The instrument break in the middle may be a little too long. You might think about shortening it or adding some ad-lib vocals in there somewhere to break it up. Jazzy/Bluesy feel. Pretty good song.
- dwillardjr from Tulsa, Oklahoma on 11Jun2007
Seductive Power
Love the sitar in the beginning of this song. It sets the tone for what follows in that the listener really has no expectations, is frankly unsure of which direction the tune will go in. I like that.
Thankfully, it all resolves into a bombastic display of horns, funky drumming and tasteful accompanying guitars. The vocals are smooth and powerful, and the singer seems confident in his delivery which also suits this song, as does its lyrics dealing with the in's and out's and up's and down's of the romantic condition, and all the question marks that go along with that. But don't fret - there's sunny days ahead baby.
Clean production and an energetic performance tops everything off nicely and makes me feel like clicking 'play' one more time.
- seabelt from New York on 29May2007
nice..
i liked the beginning, it was pretty original... i really like your voice too. it's a nice chill out funk song.. i like it!
- chibi5988 from Yokohama, Japan on 29May2007
Maroon 5 meets meets funk and soul
The first ten seconds of the song sound like a good-grooving Maroon 5 song, especially the vocals. Then the horns come in and you're like "alright, these guys just got some funk on!" The organ near the middle of the song is a really nice touch to a really solid song.
- cajunvagabonds from Chicago, Illinois on 28May2007
GOOD TUNE
SWEET GROOVE! THE CHANGES & CHORD STRUCTURE SOUND GREAT TO MY EARS & HAVE NICE FLOW. THE LYRICS ARE GOOD, ALTHOUGH, PERSONALLY, I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT LYRICAL CONTENT... I HEAR THE VOX AS ANOTHER INSTRUMENT & I DON'T REALLY FOLLOW THE WORDS. DON'T MEAN FOR THAT TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE VOCALIST, THOUGH...HE'S GOOD! BOTH THE PRODUCTION & THE BAND'S OVERALL SOUND ARE STRONG, TOO. GREAT HORNS!
- TheSlyDels from Cincinnati, Ohio on 28May2007
A Sweet Jam
Nice and mellow and keeps the flow goin. I love the instrumentation and the vocals and not to mention the horn line. Sweet sounds ! Lyrically speaking it tells an everescent story and the chord line backs it right up.
- Musicman4392 from Trumbull, Connecticut on 28May2007
Cracking Piece
real funk / soul. try increasing the speed by 10% .. might be more funky that way. fantastic voice. try ading a guitar offbeat to the song .. think it would sound fab. good song nonetheless well produced. JC
ps fantastic sax. :)
- everrest from Manchester, United Kingdom on 28May2007
A hot funky song
The general sound is good,i appreciate particularly the voice (hot and cool).Intro is also interesting. The arrangements are ok,really good beat, sax soloing great
really good job also for the production!
- ericminen from Annecy, France on 28May2007
A really fun song
I really like the chord progressions, and especially the way certain chords "wash" over the listener (0:19 and 0:30).
Good use of horns around 0:38, it gives the song a fun sound. I also think the vocals fit the song perfectly.
I think the verse and chorus contrast really nicely, with the verse being more laidback compared to the upbeat chorus.
Awesome use of backing vocals at the two-minute mark. They support the solo really nicely, and they're kind of dreamy.
Lyrics sounded good to me.
Overall, this song has a great sound to it - its fun, catchy, musical, and well-produced.
- Calendar6 from Mount Kisco, New York on 27May2007
nice vocal
I like the vocal very much. His own expression and rare colour of the voice. You can also notice the feeling - he feels the song.
I like also the mix of the instruments. Creates a catchy dance mood. Maybe you should try more clean-cut soumd of drums and percussions (but just a litle bit).
The sound made very fine and balanced -good job on production.
- sramot from Cadca, Slovakia on 27May2007
Review
Very interesting introduction.
Vocals and stuff remind me of a funkier, jazzier Maroon 5. Great vocals! I love how the horns compliment the vocals, that sounds so good. The electric keys are just jamming in the backround too -- really makes for a great mood.
Keep this shit up, its really, really good!
- proghairfunk from Newark, Delaware on 27May2007
booyaka

finnally, something funky.

- feet_ from Chatham, Ontario, Canada on 22May2007
fullness in soundscape
organ is cool, singer has a good tone and raspyness, sounds like a great river.
love the horn section, this funk sounds pretty organic too, most on here is very computer- this is way cooler.
very catchy
- Victor_Lester from Wall Street, Cheshire, Uzbekistan on 19May2007
dave matthews in funk....
lyrics are interesting, and i like the tone of the voice
chord structure is jazz....
sound is good, but it sounds like dave matthews, who I love. so...i understand...
- Slave_To_A_Name from Malvern, Arkansas on 18May2007
Sunny days
Kinda funky sitar sound thing at the begining. I like the horn line, but not the sax solo so much (a little too cliche').
Lyrically, I can see people able to sing along on almost the first listen. The chorus is pretty strong, but to me the verses lack a 'real-ness'
Chords Structure is pretty standard funk stuff. It sounds like the same structure over the verse and chorus, but it sounds different over the bridge. I think the bridge doesn't fit the song for that reason.
Sound is pretty good, kinda AWB. Something sounds slightly off with the horn sounds, especially noticable in the solo section, almost like it's too far off the mic
- vcsb from Nashville, Tennessee on 18May2007
veeery nice!
nice jazzy intro. you kind of sound like dave matthews vocal wise, which is a great sound for this song. good and catchy melody to the song. the sound is very good also. sounds like a radio worthy tune to me!
- marcleblanc9 from Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada on 17May2007 Bluesy
Highly original, great instrumental effects. Love the vocals too. This has a great tune and brilliant brass interuptions.
- FrontingVocals from United Kingdom on 17May2007
Great sound
I like the sound a lot, you can easily define the instruments. I like the horn production. The vocal sound is great and in front of the mix, where is belongs. Good funky tune, that should give you a lot of gigs.
- Cody_McNeil from Denmark on 17May2007
Dave Mayer
love your voice dude. Great character to your sound. Very John Mayer meets Dave Matthews. Love it. well done.
- brandonodonnell from Unspecified on 17May2007
Hornsy
Vocals are recorded really well! Very clear with a lot of nuance.
The lyrics are fine, although I am not blown away. I am much more engaged by the instrumental work.
The chord progressions seem to be working well together. What about getting further away from diatonic harmony? The modulation from verse to chorus IS fun though.
The sound of the track overall is fun and groovy. Great job.
- punkjazz180 from Northampton, Massachusetts on 16May2007
nice sound
O yeah, dig those horns. production and sound is very good. nice vocals too, sound a little heavy set, but thats good for the soul. nice lyrics too, feel good funk is what id call it. Chord structure is very pleasant. nice bass licks too. overall very good. nice smooth chorus of voices.

SUGARbeat
very snappy
This reminds me of something sooo much but I can't put my finger on it! Some kind of jazz/funk/fusion... wish I could remember the song!
Good solid vocals. Tight bass & drums- the kind every singer hopes for. I love the horns too.
This song actually made me move a bit in my chair. Especially when that chorus (or was it a bridge?) kicked in.
Great production, great job overall!
- movingsky from Somerville, Alabama on 3Oct2007 Fun!
This is a fun song overall. The lyrics are fun and playful. The vocal is very smooth and distinct.
I love the horns in the song, makes it stand out. The production is great, instrumentation is awesome. The whole vibe of the song is cool. I like that you keep the vocal simple and dont belt it out like crazy. Everything works with this song. Nice!
- MickyShiloah from North Woodmere, New York on 29Sep2007 Soulful voice
The voice has soul and the beat has a Maroon 5 feel to it. When the horns come in, my head starts moving. This is the soundtrack to a hip bar scene. The track moves well and is tightly put together. The bridge is unexpected. It's got a 70s feel, but the flavor of his voice is definately of this decade.
- LauraH from High Bridge, New Jersey on 19Sep2007 funk-tastic
Dig the guitar riff. Reminds me of Jamiraqui a little. Vocals are good too. The horns are killer too.
- touhill from Los Angeles, California on 19Sep2007 Review
Funky. Very cool groove - Soulive-esque.
Clean production, tight performance... You can hear the room in the recording of the horns - I kind of like it, but it contradicts how clean everything else sounds on the recording.
Really that's my only criticism - Digging the breakdown, too.
Great track - Congrats.
- justoffturner from Los Angeles, California on 19Sep2007 Looong Song..
I think your funky guitar work is good. You have a nice rhythm going on through out the song. The brass work is really nice and adds to the song. The drum work is very good also. You get it on around the 3:00 minute mark with that great solo. This long song works because you build up so slowly and then go to town at the tail end of the song. Isn't my style of music exactly but you win me over. Very good vocal and very good job with the mix and production. Good luck with this one.
- MusicJohn from Atlanta, Georgia on 15Sep2007 Funky!
This song has a funky, kind of James Brown feel to it. Lovin' the brass. This is a fun, energetic song. Maybe adding some background vox would take it even higher? Really good job!
- lawrn from Corona, California on 15Sep2007 Nice opening.
That drum fill at the start was great. That bass line is tight as well.
The production is excellent. I have trouble telling if anything is programmed, or if it's all played by humans. I guess that's what we all aspire to, right? To be tight enough to sound as good as a programmed robot, but also to program well enough for it to sound like a great musician.
Your voice really fits the style. It sounds like you practice a lot. You sound similar to somebody. All I can think of now is Maroon 5, but that's probably not the best comparison.
Those horns are great too. It'd be nice if you did something more with them eventually. Oh, you do - in that bridge at about 3:15ish.
Lyrics seem a bit weak, but they really fit the style. I hope you don't repeat them for the whole 5 minutes though.
At 1:47 I'm glad that it changes up a bit, but that section's over too soon. I'm glad it's back at about 3:00.
To be honest, I don't think this song has enough content to deserve 5 minutes. If it had been a bit shorter, I would have enjoyed it more.
- jayraj from Calgary, Alberta, Canada on 11Sep2007 Funky groove
I like the funky feel. You seem like you are having fun and it shows.Vocals are good.Good tune.Arrangement is different.
- benjaminkyle from Lorain, Ohio on 10Sep2007 Dave Matthews Again, Again
This tune sounds like it was arranged on a computer. Maybe it was, or maybe it just sounds that way. It's trying to be very funky, but I don't have any sense of a band playing together in the way that produces funk... The more I listen, the more I think it might be a real bassist and drummer playing, but the sound seems very digitized and clean, and it's preventing the tune from rocking.
I like the vocal DDL in the bridge, it provides a nice change. The singing is professional overall, but not my cup of tea... And probably mixed a bit too loud.
I recommend that this band work harder to get the production sound of the bands they seem be influenced by... The sound is just OK, and sounds "not-quite-there" as of now. Sorry, guys! Plenty of potential, though.
- 3rdElvis from Hudson, Massachusetts on 31Aug2007 Funky Jazzy Missing Something
Very confidently played, but it's missing something. Around 1:50 it gets a lot more interesting with that reverb and a new drum beat, but you could use some piano or something. Nice drum solo, and sax solo, I wish I could have heard a lot more of them in the whole song. This song has potential, it just needs something more.
- robertjlarue from Chicago, Illinois on 28Aug2007 not bad, not good
smooth. Don't like the scattered bass line. Guitar riff doesn't do it for me, too puss puss, not enough sack. Pretty cool horns, but repeat too much. Vocals are solid, but cheese melody. Try again
- thedogswillhunt from Unspecified on 27Aug2007 very Funky!
the vocals are good and have a nice tone. The band is very tight, and the arrangement is good too. The mix is clean enough
- DylanPatrick from Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom on 27Aug2007 60's wooo
This is a really 60's type beat. and i really like ur voice my man, this is really hot. you remind me of maroon 5 and rob thomas! fly, brah., what else can is say but... wow!
- BARSmuzik from Fairfield, California on 27Aug2007 I love the beat and guitars!
I dont like the little drum fill in the begining, but i really like the overall beat and feel to the song. The minimalistic guitars are cool. The vocals are pretty strong, and i like the wind instruments in the chorus. It just gets a little repetetive after awhile. Overall i like the song.
- jkappas from Woodland Hills, California on 21Aug2007 Great Groving Music!
If you like grooving music, buy this song. Great musicallity and the horn section is cool. A little narrow on the progression, but overall good. Subject matter is predictable, bu fitting.
- RaymondGregory from Riverside, California on 20Aug2007 Love It!
The intro grabbed me right off! The vocal in the verse is perfect! I'm up dancing to this one! Give it a vocal in th chorus with a great melody and pan those horns! This is a great song!
- ralphson from Japan on 18Aug2007 Nice funk!
I like the old school funk sound to this song. The only suggestion I would make is to think about some vocal affects (not much just a bit of reverb mabye). I notice you did that around 2 minutes in, though.
Anyways, great song!
- DLaneTaylor from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 17Aug2007 Stands still
Good funk riff on the guitarr. Bass is really going at it, Flea-like. Vocals has the right phrasing but lacks something to keep up with the music. There is not enough depth in the voice. And nothing really happens in the music. Not enough anyway. You get this feeling that the band could be content in their own groove for ages while the audience is silently leaving. Oh, at least after 2 minutes you get a break. Higher energy level but then we´re back to the same basics. No, this is not enough despite the flawless peformance. I want to feel more when I listen to music.
- onesadhorse from , Sweden on 16Aug2007 Funky
Yeah, James Brown, Yeah!
Good tight band.. but the lyrics are awful.. Nice horns come in after lyrics.. Seriously these lyrics are terrible..
It took way too long to get the chorus- the chorus was better than the rest..
- squireking from United Kingdom on 15Aug2007 Funky!
Yes! This song brought the noize/funk from start to finish. Love the beat, the bassline is killer. The lead singer is serious about his delivery. Love the horn line -- really bright. Good lyrics. This was a great listen.
- LeNora_Jaye from Smyrna, Georgia on 4Aug2007 Love it
The production is great. The vocals are not as good as the production. The lyrics a re not that special. Ok track.
- benze300 from Louisville, Kentucky on 2Aug2007 Works
The Song could hace mre catchy lyrics which keeps my attention. The break down is good.
- genterceo from Norfolk, Virginia on 21Jul2007 cool little drummer boy
nice drum intro and soothing guitar, the voice complements the instruments nicely, i sense a bit of sting in the vocal. Production sounds alright. Instruments sound nice.
sexy nice
- krackerjapz from Osaka, Japan on 21Jul2007 I feel Like Dancin
Man rightaway the lines laid down by the rythm section make me want to get up dance. Guitar is very tasteful, but could use a little more than just playin the chords. Horn section is a great touch. Vocalist is awesome I really love what hes going. Sounds like you guys pull off a great live show!
- eyeamu from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 18Jul2007 James Brown feel
This is a great song. The drums pick the song up right off the bat. Very dance-able. The horn section plays a tight little diddy. This song seems to capture the funk feel very well. This is what I think of a funk should be. The guitar sounds a lot like James Brown. The chorus is a great contrast to the verse, the vocal melody changes and adds a lot emphasis to the chorus. The instrumental break is impressive. The percussion seems very technical and the improvisation sounds somewhat jazzy. Overall great song.
- bigkroetch from Coeur D' Alene, Idaho on 17Jul2007 bass line
groovy bass line. i definitely didn't expect those vocals to come out of nowhere like that. i like how up beat and energetic it is. the bass line is very frantic, so the whole song feels restless and danceable. the lyrics are pretty goofy though. that's probably the point, but i did notice. i guess it gives all the restlessness comic relief
- flamingomatrix from Reno, Nevada on 15Jul2007 Niceeeee.
Awesome. Great production values are being used here. All instruments seem balanced and sit well in the mix. The vocals rock too. I like the breakdown at 1:46. I have nothing but compliments. Flawless and a work of art.
- TikTak from Unspecified on 14Jul2007 George Michael in Bass Heaven
What every funk song depends on is a good bass player, in my humble opinion. You have that and everything flows from that. The vocals aren't the usal funkmeister but they work well as a result. The horn section does its job and the drummer holds it all together. A grand job, until the bridge, which was a bit too different from the verse for me, but maybe I'm too conservative.
- Akibakei from London, United Kingdom on 14Jul2007 good production
this has a nice beat and great sequencing.this is a unique song.its in the r and b category sounds more like jazz to me.
- gqrhythm from Bronx, New York on 14Jul2007 good funky sound
Tight drums and base. Sounds like Dave Mathews in the vocals a little. Good horns, Are those real or keyboard? Sounds good, good production. Maybe add some female backup singers.
- BillRoller from Oswego, Illinois on 6Jul2007 I recognize you guys
I think.....are you those eggsomething or other from Cali? I am starting to think I am wrong. Anyway, I like the bridge. Horns are mixed nicely. I find this song to be a bit repetitive. this probably rocks out nicely for you at the club. second bridge with the persussion is nice too. Excellent musicianship but this is not the song that will break you to the larger public.
- landwanr from Pike - I Can't Believe It, New Hampshire on 3Jul2007 cool
I like both Mezzoforte and CasioPea for their great funk! And now I can add YOU to the list too. This tune should be on the dancefloor worldwide!
- schizofrantic from Moss, Norway on 29Jun2007 Whew Wee! Something Smell's Funky!
Great beat. Def. da funk over here.Love the brass. This kind of has a Jamariqui Feel, but funkier. I definately like it. The instrumental break down was freakin awesome as well. The drum rolls into the sax solo just a had pungent stench of hot sexy funk sweat. I was nodding so hard at the end I pinched a nerve in my neck. This songs energy progressively gets more intense. Great song!
- Enceladus from Delta, Pennsylvania on 28Jun2007 Engaging Intro
Great track, love it. Instrumental balance fantastic, sexy vocals, grooves from start to finish. Good blend and tracking levels, funky beats!
- agiagu from Sydney, Nsw, Australia on 23Jun2007 Groovy Guitar
I must say I was put off initially by the opening drum fill, but the guitar then took over, then a cool guys singing and swinging...its sexy. Nice horns.
nice work!
- countmanley from South Africa on 23Jun2007 it makes me dancing
good rhytm-section work, well done! the bass player is very good. Need more attention to arrangement work - sometimes instruments play too much in the same time. exemple - drum solo in the middle with percussion. i didn't get what flute was trying to do at the end. Generally, i love this song, good job!
- ZaytsevSlava from Russian Federation on 21Jun2007 Okay...
I dont care for the beat at all, but I do like the lyrics and the sound of your voice. The vocals are done really well, and the production ofthe song was done nicely. The instruments used also add to the song, if you werent listening before, the instruments will pull you in to where you want to listen to what it is that he is singing about. Great job, would have been an even better song if the beat was better. Nice way to add to the beat though with the instruments. Great idea, shows your creativity.
I dont care for the bridge, where the beat speeds up, that really takes away from the song, and loses its appeal. All in all nice job though.
- bricksdf from Louisville, Kentucky on 20Jun2007 Review
Nice intro, good funky guitar. I really like that horn section. The vocals are good. The horns are just absolutely great. The switch to a sort of more disco feel is a little uncalled for at about 1:45, but fortunately its only 15 seconds long. The horns really make this song. Good Work.
- willh212 from Newburyport, Massachusetts on 16Jun2007 Review
for some reason it reminds me of Maroon 5. the melody gets boring after a while, it needs variety. but it's still an alright song
- majaz88 from Vranje, Serbia, Yugoslavia on 14Jun2007 sexy
1.like intro of this song got my ears to go on
2.vocals very clear good funk tone
3.melody beat good in song with music. WELL DONE
- songmanmel from Gap, Pennsylvania on 13Jun2007 Well Done
Love the horns. Great groove, great vocals. Great bass player, which is must for this style. Overall the musicianship is fantastic. I can hear this on the radio, and I wouldn't change the station.
Great Job

- merritta6 from Exeter, California on 11Jun2007 I'm already movin
Yeah, my bodies movin' as soon as the groove kicks in. Horns add to the mood, good vocals. The girl your singing about must be a supper freak. Keep Shinnin'
- ljl76 from Trumbull, Connecticut on 10Jun2007 South Beach funk
Something about the drums at the intro didn't sound right. But then the bass comes in and everything's fine.
I like this singer's voice. Reminds me of the singer from a band no one heard of called Fungo Mungo. Good production on the vocals.
Hey, horns! I like a horn section. Nice touch. Why not keep them going through the rest of the song? With variations, not repeating the same thing.
I would've made this song a bit shorter. Maybe a cut a couple parts or measures hear and there? But I can picture people dancing to this at some joint in South Beach. In fact, I'd get sweaty and dance to this if I'd had a couple drinks :)
- eventcell from Spokane, Washington on 9Jun2007 Funky
Good start. Like the mix. Lyrics are clear and I like the story it paints.
Instrumentation is good. Bass and drums are thumpin together. Enjoyable song.
- animalien from Madison, Wisconsin on 9Jun2007 Disco
Doesn't move quite fast enough for me, chorus should come in earlier, but I love the groove.
- Slice_Music from United Kingdom on 9Jun2007 funk it out
yeah this song made me "funky dance". It's great, bass sounds great, guitar superb, vocals are fantastic. Sound quality is very good. This song makes you want to dance.
- mutante from Monterrey, Mexico on 7Jun2007 Hot band sound.
You've got everything going. Nice horns and keys. I think you could use some harmony in the chorus, just my opinion. The break down is very nice. I liked the sax solo, it gave us something more to listen to. The arrangement is very good, everything fits very well.
- johnnie5ive from Massillon, Ohio on 5Jun2007 Fun
Nice song with a good beat and a nice bassline. The guitar has a nice tone, and the use of horns is intersting because it contributes to a jazzier sound. The Synth in the background contributes to a nice mellow feel throughout. The whole song erupts into a lively chorus that contrasts with the mellow chorus, and the sax solo is certainly a plus. Overall, its a fun song with a nice upbeat yet mellow jazz-funk sound.
- crazydoughnut from Ossining, New York on 5Jun2007 dave mathews funk
the singer reminds me of dave matthews the bass is pretty nice and fast the horns are a nice add.
- guitarguy0014 from Chuluota, Florida on 2Jun2007 Dancehall funk!!!
Dancehall funk!!! I like it from the get go. sweet groove. When the horns come through its fantastic. I think you should let the groove develop a bit more before the verse comes in though because its all about the groove. But it builds nice tension before the chorus which is nice. But the vocals during the chorus seems a bit stressed, maybe a different key would work? Its hard with horns, but might save the vocals. Speaking of the chorus, I like the switch to the disco-esque feel like Jamiroquai. The drum and sax breaks are sweet also. The flute is a bit out of key towards the end also, and I don't think it fits great with the rest of the song unless it was introduced earlier. But its good and I like it.
- dsidebass from Coventry, Connecticut on 2Jun2007 lyrically obvious
you can just let the rythm section groove for a while without much going on, space is good. vocals are good but lyrics are sort of weak.
- ylandau from San Diego, California on 31May2007 cool
its got a little funk but more disco.nice production, kinda drags
in verse but chorus kicks ass.
over all i like it.
- majikjonzin from Jefferson City, Missouri on 30May2007 Almost Perfect
This ensemble is very tight, and I am especially impressed by the guitar licks, and synth-horn flourishes. The song structure, too, is incredibly satisfying, the part late in the song where that extra percussion creeps in really makes things interesting. However, I think it would put the song onto a higher plane if on top of the professional, groovy instrumental arrangement was a more powerful, higher-pitched vocal wailing. Perhaps the writers intended a more refined sound, but perhaps a little more oomph could be added in way of vocals.
- nschulz4537 from Downers Grove, Illinois on 30May2007 Catchy right from the get-go
The main groove and the male vocals hooked me right from the beginning. The trumpet/sax line between verses sounded good but would be more interesting if the melodic line they played differed more instead of having one riff four times in a row. The bass line and the drums sound incredible and provide a solid base for the rest of the music to build on. The break for the conga and sax solos is placed perfectly within the song to add more texture.
- MoneyMarkNygren from Missoula, Montana on 30May2007 cool
i like it very much... but it is alike many famous bands. try to wor k under individuality of vocals and musical construction
- efremovnikolay from Kiyiv, Ukraine on 21May2007 Cool funky groove
Nice steady bass and drums groove. Love the sound of the horns. You get a good livefeeling. The biggest problem with this song is, that you can't help moving your feet, when you listen to it.

Maroon 5 or James Blunt wannabe
I hear some very awkward, rather strange sounds in the vocals. I cannot exactly perceive the source of these very awkward sounds/moments in the vocals, as they are very obscure yet manage to irritate the listener. Perhaps, the vocalist can tone his vocals down a tad, as they are much too strong which is not necesarily a good thing. Also, as I am listening carefully to this song, I believe I may have found the source of this irritating vocal sound. The vocalist should project his voice naturally, not trying so terribly hard to add so much edge and roughness to his voice. Ignore if I am wrong, but I have a gut feeling that the vocalist is trying to emulate the vocals of perhaps Maroon 5 or James Blunt. If so, please embrace originality as your focal point in singing, as the vocalist definitely has potential. It is simply irritating having to hear emulated vocalist that are quite irritating. The terrible vocals pervade the song and detract from the beautiful melody. The "Wonderful" course is definitely promising and would sound much better if sung with another vocalist. The song, in itself is very nice and sounds like another tune I would hear while flipping the radio channels. Redo the vocals and the song might be more than "just another song".
- RoseCarmel from Beverly Hills, California on 10Jul2007 $$$$ Radio Ready Recording, Compostion and
Wow. Nice textures to open up, fantastic trickling organ sounds, panned to perfection. The singer is top notch (Reminds me of the Maroon Five singer, that guy who sang the "You're Beautiful" song, and Sting) and on the note non-stop, nice vibrato here and there, good acorbatics without being too jumpy. Lyrics are extremely well phrased and comunicative, fitting the vibe without stalling or stumbling. Good hook, clear anunciation. The arrangement is extremely well done, the backing voacls are on point and the sax is a very tough thing to place without sounding adult contemporary - conrats, you managed to do it. Compostionally, the dynamic never hits a blistering level and nevers trickles to a whisper, but this is a radio ready piece and a dynamic work never withstands radio compression anyway, so no real flaw there. The rich sense of swelling on the "wonderful things" hook is tactfully done and extremely enjoyable. Great work across the board, you belong on the Top 40 charts, and this isn't even my cup of tea.
- thefutureofcolor from San Francisco, California on 2Jul2007 A very good song
Could the drums be brought forward a bit in this mix, also may benefit from some reverb. Good backing vocals. Nice song. Again the keyboards are a bit quiet and ithink could do with being brought forward in the mix a bit. Otherwise a very good song with very good backing instrumentation and backing vocals. Nice chorus with a good hook. The mix just sounds a bit mono-ish. was this recorded live. But otherwise i love the song.
- pauljaw2000 from London,Uk, United Kingdom on 1Jul2007 "Wonderful"
I like the chord progression at the chorus. Nice periodic use of the female backing vocals. Is that saxophone at the end? I would like to see more of that instrument intertwining with the vocals of the lead at the last chorus.
- benjaminfaust from Saint Paul, Minnesota on 23Jun2007 Every little thing he does is magic
Ok, good vocal sound after 20 seconds of I don't know why you have it intro. Ok, Sting called and wants his vocal style and range back. The drummer is playing a different tempo than the rest of you. The production is ok but there are pitch and level problems all over it. You have a great vocal sound and excellent pitch but you really need to find a way to stop sounding like Sting. The song is good. Thanks.
- caseyjcasey from Saint Petersburg, Florida on 21Jun2007 Interesting voice
The voice has a boz scaggs flavour , melodys and lyrics are interesting . I found the music a little too laid back and the drums were uninventive or a bit too safe , but a very nice song with an engageing voice that I will listen to again.
- funkedup from London, Myspace.Com/Bilcomusic, United Kingdom on 20Jun2007 Softly does it
Liking the intro, nothing harsh in my ears and its as if the sounds melting in to my ears.Like the singing, kind of reminds me of the maroon 5 singer.Good use of different instruments. Its at a good tempo and i could easily fall asleep to this, not cus its boring (which it isnt at all) its because its so relaxing.I like the chord progression of the chorous.I like it.keep up the good work
- michael_bedder from Leicester/Leeds, United Kingdom on 20Jun2007 OK
I likeed this track , allthough I just wasnt too wild about the intro because when the song really kicks in the story is well told and the intro just doesnt do it justice because its a soild song with a story that is quite exciting to listen too !
- Musicman4392 from Trumbull, Connecticut on 19Jun2007 Good
Good Keyboardist, good drumer, realy good vocal. Nice lyrics. You did a very good job.
- fleuvio from Chestnut Ridge, New York on 18Jun2007 Great track!
Good track, good singing going on here. Its really good actually. The only problem I have is with the drums. They sound to processed, too heavy and demand to much attention. Like the cleartiy of the bass.To the point. Super chorus. Commercial potential there. Brass section too soft. Drums in the end again way to heavy! Pitty.
- 21CELCIUS from Netherlands on 17Jun2007 Enjoyable music, really brings you down!
Great song to hear after a stressfull day... The sound is amazing, and its really armonic! The vocals are in tune and really expresive, the mood is amazing and good lyrics
- Pochu from Buenos Aires, Capital Federal, Argentina on 14Jun2007 Jazzy :) ;):);)
The vocalist here is just so beautiful in his voice.... Drums though could use a better mix... electric guitars and the piano/Keyboard and it's choice of sound is so perfect and beautiful with the choice of arrangements and transitions as well...
Jesus is the way to Salvation to get to the Father & Heaven.. Jesus is Lord and loves you very much.. John 14:6. God Bless :) :)
- Loxstep from Wilmington, North Carolina on 14Jun2007 drop the organ and I'm in love
Great vocal. Like maroon five. There's a lot of talent here.
The filler with the organ sounds a little like my grandma's organ. Even if it were piano I would like it a lot more.
I like the lyrics, 'heading straight into the sun, listen to the radio' they give me a feel for what you're feelign even though you're not stating it straight out. Nice.
The structure is great, the verse is interesting and leads perfectly to the catchy chorus. by the end i found myself singing wonderful days will come in my head.
So change the organ and I LOVE it!
- iamlanding from Provo, Utah on 14Jun2007 cool vibe
i like the rhoades.the song seems pretty tame and safe. not bad though. well written.well performed.
- sleepsound from St. Paul, Minnesota on 13Jun2007 good....
very nice vocals, sounds grundgy. The song flows smoothly. Nice sound quality and the transitions sound very natural. Good job.
- mutante from Monterrey, Mexico on 7Jun2007 Relaxing jam
Nice tune here. I like the arrangement and the vocals are easy to understand and listen to. However, along those lines, the mix of the vocals could be lower; especially when the high notes are being sustained. They defintiely drown out everything else to an almost uncomfortable level.
- Russorock from Milton, New Jersey on 7Jun2007 Jazzy
I really enjoyed the Jazzy notes being played in the beginning. The melody is very creative and well sung. Sounds hard to perform but very well done!
- johnshwilliams from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 4Jun2007 Review
Jason Mraz and John Mayer with a tinge of freshness. The song had a good "grab" value within the first minute. The vocalist is clearly talented and has a sound all his own. The lyrics were engaging and well sung. I lose the bass, but the song still sounds good.
- sessionbooking from New York on 4Jun2007 get yourself a deal. people want you!
smooth guitar intro. can't wait to hear the vocals set in. OK you are great and you probably know it. the vocals are great. not yet discovered? why is that? you should make records and could probably make a living of it. though you remind me of sting and the singer of maroon5 you have your own sound. the song itself is great it is moody, it suits the singer and makes the singer the star. go and get yourself the deal maybe try germany or other countries. wish you all the best!
