We are a band from Melbourne, Australia and are dedicated to performing our own brand of soul and funk infused music and the more obscure and classic funk/soul tracks of the past, from Motown to Stax. Sugarbeat guarantee to get your feet moving with a driving music force and highly entertaining show.

It has been told that many years ago there was a group of  intrepid music explorers in the deep dark jungles of Australia. Legend has it that these brave souls were trapped in a storm for three whole years (that's one hell of a storm!!) with nothing to listen to exept Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield and the great Maceo Parker. They distilled this music through their tortured minds, bodies and souls and..........

  ....came out the other side as.......    Sugarbeat!!

A band of experienced and seasoned musicians that have been performing in Australia and internationally for over fifteen years. Collectively Sugarbeat have played and recorded with some of the world's funkiest and greatest artists
including: Eddie Bo, James Morrison, Paul Kelly, Men at Work, Kate Ceberano, Marcia Hines, Bjorn Again, Missy Higgins, Jimmy Barnes, Neil and Tim Finn, The Audreys, Jimmy Cobb and Billy Harper and can therefore honestly say we have a wealth of experience to draw from.
